Seishin Iaido

Welcome to Seishin Judo

Seishin is a active traditional judo club situated in Burgess Hill, West Sussex teaching traditional Japanese Judo with traditional respect, discipline and etiquette.

This year heralds a new beginning, a new focus and a few surprises!

Here at Seishin there are no hidden agendas and no egos just a happy friendly atmosphere where all are welcome - Seniors, Juniors, Male, Female, Beginners and Experienced alike.

Judo is an ideal sport and martial art for all ages. It provides an ideal form of physical exercise, improving stamina, strength and overall fitness. In addition to the etiquette, respect, self-discipline that judo promotes it also greatly improves confidence.

We are successful in competition but do not place the winning of medals as our main priority.

Seishin complies fully with all aspects of the Child Protection Act and has its own specialist Child Welfare Officer. Everyone is treated fairly and equally regardless of race, gender, background or ability.

CLUBMARK
We have been awarded the prestigious Bronze level of the BJA Club Recognition Scheme and the Sport England Clubmark accredited by Sport England, and have one of the largest mat areas in Sussex.

Sport England Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. It is awarded by National Governing Bodies (NGB`s) in our case the British Judo Association and County Sport Partnerships (CSPs) in recognition of a quality club. For more information look in the News section of our Club Information pages.

INSTRUCTORS
Instructors/Coaches:- Judo players are not automatically instructors simply by gaining their black belt. They need the ability, integrity, technical knowledge, desire and understanding to instruct and teach others, regardless of the students ability. At Seishin all of our coaches are fully qualified and certified with the British Judo Association (the National Governing Body for Judo in the UK) and offer quality and safe instruction to both Seniors and Juniors.

Seishin's Child Protection Policy and Equity Policy are available to all members.

Above all, our most important priority are the students and their needs.

All Instructors and assistants are fully CRB checked and fully Insured.

As always, the first session is free. Come along and see for yourself.

Seishin is fully registered with the British Judo Association (the National Governing Body for Judo in the UK) BJA Club No 2545.
